Lucas Momparler. I am a photographer and artist who mainly works with film photography and video with experience in architecture. I am deeply fascinated by the intricate connections between humans and the natural world: my work is focused on the idea of rethinking the bonds with nature and exploring ways of communication with different species. For me, nature serves as a medium by which I transmit my emotions and experiences.

Zone: Recoleto Creative

To highlight two visions that, although they differ in chromaticism, temperatures, finishes and surfaces, manage to coexist through contrast. They are the two faces of the moon. One incandescent and bright, the other hidden in the shadows. This binomial between light and shadow finds several points of contact. Both born from the articulation of the 5 elements: Water, Air, Space, Fire and Earth. The proposals coexist because their differences do nothing but exalt one another. Two ceramists with particular searches that range from the matte whites and typical colors of the local lands of this coast of the Mediterranean, to the black and smoky colors of the depths of distant Latin America.

The search and pursuit for new supports to display photographic work, combined with the ideas of sustainability and recycling are the backbone of this project. The idea is converting boxes that generally contained electronic devices, and that sooner or later would end up in a container, into carefully crafted artistic objects that house and exhibit the photographic work from the author’s archive. His gaze turns out to be the main theme of the exhibition, ranging from classic black and white to the vibrant colours of his Small World series.

As part of the program to commemorate the 25th of November, the international day to eliminate violence against women, we have organized an outdoor show for all ages on the 24th of November at 11:00 in the Square: Plaça de l'Ajuntament. This show is about two cleaning ladies, who bored with their daily routine, enter into a daydream world where their workday is broadcast as if it were an Olympic competition. Sportive gestures, dance, acrobatic movements and humor bring this world of nonsense to life, which reveals the most established types of macho violence in our society: the lack of recognition for household chores and caretaking tasks.
