She has a degree in Law from the University of Valencia and she began her career in the Diplomatic Corps in 1992.
She has been assigned in Spanish diplomatic representation posts in Russia, Nicaragua and Holland. She was permanent deputy representative before the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. She was Deputy Director General of Cultural and Scientific Affairs and Cooperation Director for South America and the Caribbean region of the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development. Afterwards, she was Ambassador in the Special Mission for the Arms Trade Treaty.
