Xavi Torres was born in Xàbia on 21st of November 1986. At the age of 14, he joined the discipline of the Villarreal CF. For six years, he belonged to the lower categories of the Castellón team, and played with the Villarreal CF "B" team.
In 2007, Villareal transferred him to FC Barcelona, with his debut in Barcelona's top team that same year. The rest of the season, he played on the FC Barcelona "B" team, and was the Captain of the Barcelona "B" team in 2008. His debut in the First Division took place on the 17th of May 2009 against RCD Mallorca, where he played the full ninety minutes of the game.
In the 2009/10 season, Torres left FC Barcelona and signed with Málaga CF, with the objective to have more opportunities in the First Division. Málaga assigned him to Levante UD for the 2010/11 season. In 2012, he was drafted by Getafe CF, where he currently plays.
Among his hobbies, he highlights fishing and playing Paddle Tennis.
