La Caja (“The Box”) is a play in the Autobiographical  Documentary Theater genre which was created based on the author’s experience when a person very close to her was diagnosed with a mental illness.

That life experience awakened the need to explore the universe of the mind and the obstacles that persons must face when they perceive a reality that is far from the parameters accepted by our society. “La Caja” invites to take an intimate look at the universe of the human mind by means of a poetic and social journey; whose destiny is to cross over the boundary that separates “insane” persons from the people who perceive reality within the parameters accepted by our society.
