Fishermen´s association
The Fishermen’s Association (Cofradía de Pescadores) of Xàbia is comprised by a group of almost one hundred seafaring professionals who on a daily basis guarantee the supply of fish and seafood with the best quality and freshness possible from our Mediterranean Sea.
Always firmly based on the principles of sustainability and traceability, our fishermen are the guarantors of the best fishing practices in order to ensure the present and future of this crucial activity.
Above all, our fish and seafood are noted for the freshness of the daily fish catch and the inherent quality of the Mediterranean species.
In addition to the daily auction of our products, where they are purchased for commercial distribution and export as well as the hotel-restaurant sector; Xábia has two sites for direct sales to the public: in the mornings at the Municipal Market and in the afternoons at the Port’s fish market.
At these two points of sale, customers will find an assorted selection of local fish and seafood products with a major nutritional value.
The Jávea Fishermen’s Association has always had open doors to communicate and educate our young people in the sea’s natural environment; it carries out guided visits for schools, student groups, tourist groups, etc., in which we introduce the underwater world of the sea to society.
